The All Progressives Congress (APC) screening committee for Edo 2020 governorship election has disqualified Governor Godwin Obaseki and two other aspirants from participating in party’s primaries.
The Committee headed Chief Jonathan announced the disqualification at APC National Secretariat on Friday.
The screening committee revealed that the committee could also not ascertain the authenticity of his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge certificate.
, the name on the governor’s NYSC discharge certificate bears ‘Obasek’ instead of ‘Obaseki’.
He noted that while the committee accepted the possibility of the issuing authority making a mistake, Obaseki has not made any move to correct the error.
Ayuba said the committee, therefore, recommended that he is not eligible to contest in the party’s primary election
