Breaking: LASEMA Curtails Ahmadiya Factory Fire

LASEMA Response Team and it’s other responders has curtailed another fire incident at Winfuke Street, Ahmadiya, inward Abule Egba

The incident which left the factory of Mabel Printing and Packaging Limited completely razed, had seriously affected the one-storey Administrative Block attached to the burnt factory, where several extruding machines worth millions of naira were destroyed. Serious effect of the inferno on the administrative block drew strong advice that it shoud be subjected to integrity tests afterwards to ascertain its stability.

The fire which root cause is yet to be ascertained, and has been successfully extinguished and dampened down, reportedly started at about 7:00a.m while production was ongoing. The inferno which was said to have commenced from a section of the factory, due to over heating of a production machine, before it escalated to other sections of the factory, was supervised by the DG/CEO LASEMA Dr. Olufemi Oke–Osanyintolu and the Director of Operations, Engineer Olakunle Akinsanya.

Preliminary Report regarding fire outbreak at 12 Wifunke Street, behind total filling station Ahmmadiya Bus Stop inward Abule Egba that emanated from office of LASEMA DG/CEO Dr. Olufemi oke-Osanyintolu, has it that “On getting to the scene of the incident, it was discovered that a Nylon (Polythene) Manufacturing Company was gutted by fire.

“Further investigation gathered at the scene revealed that the fire started at about 7:00am while production was ongoing, as there was steady power supply by IKEDC.

“It was also determined by interviewing some factory workers that the fire started from a section of the plant due to over heating of a production unit.

“No loss of life nor injuries were recorded at the scene of the incident. The fire has been curtailed from spreading to other buildings around.
LASEMA Responders including their Fire team, Federal Fire Service and Lagos State Fire Service were all on ground combating the fire”.
