COVID-19: RE: REGISTER TO OPEN: RELIGIOUS INSTITUTIONS SHOULD BE MOTIVATED: SARKIN ALIMOSHO LGA.

By: Ibrahim A. Jagaba

HRH Alhaji Ahmed Haruna Kuraja, chairman of the chieftaincy council of arewa community Alimosho local government has stressed the need for the Lagos state government to make adequate provision of PPEs to religious institutions across the state as they prepare to marginally reopen for worships.

Justifying his position, the royal father posited that, for the government to effectively succeed in the drive to curtail the silent spread of the corona virus in the religious places, the government must take the responsibility of first enrolling the worship centres by providing them with the exact materials expected at every worship place, maintaining that, doing that will motivate the leaderships and followerships alike to own the fight and support the government fully.

A substantial portion of adherents of the two major religions in Nigeria still find the protocols/ restrictions mystifying even though the government’s intention is for the overall good of adherents and residents, it is still important, enabling measures are employed to elicit full support of adherents across faiths.

Furthermore, the online platform launched by the safety commission for registration by religious houses should be alternated with manual forms for the convenience of the greatest number of religious houses that are not in tune with the complexity of internet operability.

The chieftaincy council of arewa community Alimosho local government, is readily available to partner with the government in the distribution of the manual forms to the arewa community mosques across our LGA and beyond when available to help in the efforts to ensure compliance and victory over covid-19 in shaa Allah, the Sarki overall of Alimosho LGA concluded.Cool to share to any social media.
