Ogun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has berated the performance of the Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration in the state in past one year .
The State Chairman of PDP, Honourable Sikirulah Ogundele who is disturbed with the style of Abiodun administration in terms of capital projects implementation on the platform of All Progressives Congress, (APC), said that the governor was not prepared for governance.
Ogundele in a chat with Ogun Today recently in Abeokuta, stressed that Abiodun lacked blue print on how to drive the economy of the state which used to be thriving under former governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel when PDP was in charged.
Daniel according to him, initiated several capital projects which had direct impact on the lives of people, in addition to various empowerment programmes to create jobs for the unemployed while civil servants were paid regularly, to keep the local economy running.
The former member of the State House of Assembly, also tongue lashed immediate past governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, accusing the administration of lopsidedness in its implementation of capital projects in the state.
He alleged that Amosun, a serving senator on APC platform representing Ogun State Central District, concentrated most of the projects in a particular senatorial district in the state at the expense of the other two districts .
The former Ifo Local Government Area Chairman described most of the capital projects by the immediate past APC administration as mere beautification of Abeokuta city as the state capital, insisting that projects had no direct impact on the lives of the people.
According to Ogundele, the projects are penny wise , pounds foolish”.
The PDP boss however expressed confidence that his party was obvious alternative platform for good governance, commited to implementation of people oriented projects.
His words” 2023 is another opportunity for the people of Ogun State to decide.I pray to God for people to survive till 2023 election when they vote for PDP government that is responsible and responsive”.
On the crisis within PDP and his election as the new state chairman, Ogundele dismissed the claim by a factional state chairman,Samson Bambose that he was not properly elected.
He explained that the Congress that produced him as PDP State Chairman was conducted by the immediate past Engineer Adebayo Dayo led state executives committee empowered by the court to do so.
