The Nigeria Customs Service Board at it’s 52nd regular meeting has dismissed ACG Aminu Dahiru for act of serious misconduct and ACG Bashir Abubakar was compulsorily retired for act of negligence.
It also approved the appointment of five Assistant Comptrollers Generals of Customs and Promotion of 2,634 Officers.
This information was contained in a statement issued signed by Customs Spokesman, Deputy Comptroller Joseph Attah, and made available to Oriental News Nigeria.
According to DC Attah “The new Assistant Comptroller Generals are; ACG Mohammed Boyi in charge of Training and coordination; ACG Adewale Adeniyi, Commandant Customs Staff and Training College, Gwagwalada; ACG Jack Ajoku in charge of Strategic Research and Policy; ACG Olakunle Oyeleke in charge of Doctrine, Development and Administration; and ACG Emmanuel Edorhe, Zonal Coordinator, Zone C.
It added, ”The breakdown of the 2,634 officers whose promotion have 1st January 2019 as effective date are as follows: 37 Deputy Comptrollers to Comptrollers of Customs; 110 Assistant Comptrollers of Customs to Deputy Comptrollers; 138 Chief Superintendent of Customs to Assistant Comptrollers; 93 Superintendent of Customs to Chief Superintendent of Customs; 93 Deputy Superintendent of Customs to Superintendent of Customs; 1,224 Assistant Superintendent of Customs 1 to Deputy Superintendent of Customs; 475 Assistant Superintendent of Customs 11 to Assistant Superintendent of Customs; 464 Inspector of Customs to Assistant Superintendent of Customs 11.”
Adding, “205 of the 2,634 are support Staff who also enjoyed promotion to various ranks.”
The statement asserted, ” In line with the reforms agenda the Board took some disciplinary actions.”
