Femi Fani-Kayode former Aviation Minister on Monday tasked the Nigerian Government to place a travel ban on citizens of the United Kingdom, UK.
Fani-Kayode made the call while condemning the restriction of travel ban placed on Nigerians by the UK.
Globaltimes Nigeria reports that Femi Fani-Kayode described the action of the UK government as wicked, unacceptable, self-serving, and racist.
In a tweet, the All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain wrote: “To say the travel ban imposed on Nigerians by the UK is “travel apartheid” is putting it mildly.
“It is worse than that: it is racist, discriminatory, wicked, unacceptable, self-serving, vile, sinister, selective, vicious, provocative & unacceptable. We should reciprocate the gesture.”
The UK announced that it found 21 cases of the COVID-19 Omicron variant which were linked to Nigeria.
It further confirmed that from Monday (today), all flights emanating from Nigeria would be restricted. All pending visa applications in Nigeria have also been suspended, due to the ban on flights from Nigeria due to the Omicron variant.
