Osun PDP: The Road Ahead Is Bumpy -Where Are The Party Elders?

The crisis bedeviling our party since the NWC suspended Mr Soji Adagunodo and asked him to step aside has continued to fester and degenerate as Falcon seems not hearing the Falconer.
Nothing appears to be moving forward as all seems to be at standstill or at at best moving in a circle without any meaningful progress.
For several months, the party has been groping in the dark and wandering aimlessly when it ought to be a unifying party, building bridges and seeking alliance with other political parties in the State, knowing fully well the humongous task ahead.
This needless distraction and intraparty squabbles is a whirl-wind that portend serious danger for the realization of our collective dream of returning to Bola Ige House come 2022.
Men of honour across the State had resigned to fate, praying and hoping for God’s intervention in Osun PDP affairs. We can’t afford to keep quite because our collective future and destinies are involved in all these.
As it is today, many Osun electorates are getting worried, depressed, disillusioned and disenchanted with PDP over the protracted infighting which to them may rob the party of another victory.
The naked macabre dance has become do intense, so destructive and so combustive to the extent that voice of reason has taken a flight. No serious Political party desirous of winning an election in less than two years will continually engage in such fruitless and ignominious brickbat and still emerge victorious.
I began to ruminate that where are our revered leaders?
Where are the former governorship aspirants?
Where are the both State and zonal leaders?
I wonder whether this is the way this rumpus will continue unabated?
How can we be enmeshed in virulent and bitter feud less than two years to the election and still believe all is well?
What manner of people are we in Osun PDP?
I wonder the kinyof effrontery and confidence driving us and making us believe that with this deadly infighting, Osun people will still be convinced to trust PDP with its mandate.
To me the road ahead is fraught with landmines and dangers if we continue to apply the same strategy to our problems always. I sat back and reflected on what led Ogun and Oyo States respectively to lose the governorship elections in 2015 to APC. The reasons are not far-fetched then! It was simply due to unchecked, unbridled and inordinate ambition propelled by rapacious infighting and arrogance on the part of the key players.
You will all recalled that the total votes scored by PDP candidates and break-away candidates from PDP in Ogun and Oyo States then when added together were more than the declared winners in Ogun State and Oyo State in 2015, yet we have refused to take cue and learn a good lesson from their errors and misadventures!
It seems no one is ready to speak out truth to the party or to the power that be, any longer, as if we are still under military dictatorship that forbid open expressions.
Why can’t there be a new reawakening of internal solutions to this hydra headed problems if truly we wish to defeat the incumbent in 2022. Do we think and assume that the Osun peopyare not impatiently watching and taking note of our protracted internal rumpus and macabre dance in the market place?
How do we want to convince the electorates that we had learnt useful lessons from the mistakes of the past?
My heart bless for our party.
Where are the founding fathers and the party chieftains?
Where are our past Governors, deputy Governor, SSG, COS, commissioners etc
Where are our Senators, House leaders, our first and second eleven team players?
Are you sleeping or half awake?
Before our very eyes, this house seems to be on combustible fire!
Must things get to the precipice before you offer solutions?
Aren’t we all tired of being in opposition for ten years running?
Shouldn’t the ten long years be enough and adequate time to have prepared us to groom good successors, leaders and winners for our party?
While the ruling party is preparing, reevaluating its past mistakes and building bridges and alliances, our own party is busy fighting an unending combat. This is certainly not the best time for any lovers of PDP to keep quite and resign to fate. It’s better to speak up and be counted among the villians than to remain silent in the face of throes of confusion. Let all the leading lights of our party wake up and convey an emergency meeting of the elders and key stakeholders to fashion a way to nip in the bud this melodrama. As a fall out of this meeting let there be a strong and powerful reconciliation Committee to work 24/7 to bring to an end all party crises from 2018 to date.
The reconciliatory work must cut across board and must be used to reconcile its aggrieved members where there are issues. Let the leadership of our party walk a different approach towards the next election cycle. Let the party establish a think-tank of patriotic planners and strategists ahead of 2022 and not yes-men.
Let’s strengthen the party to become more formidable for challenges ahead. Concerted efforts and resources should be focused on bolstering PDP structure that has become weakened since the aftermath of the 2018 governorship election, proving that the party is yet to learn useful lessons of its shocking defeat.
Prior to now, every permutations seems to favor PDP ahead of 2022 election but many in the party are just positioned to derail the vision by their haughty and arrogant postures. We seems to be overtly confident rather than to aggressively ensure we extinguish internal bickering that can deal a blow to our aspirations. Many of us are relying on what the average politicians are telling us or what we desperately want to hear rather than bury our pride, roll up our sleeves and being to penetrate the nooks and crannies with positive and encouraging messages of hope to the people.
Let not see all critics as enemies of progress. No doubt, Osun people are tired, frustrated and are craving for good change that will be better than the present servitude of APC. There is urgent need to reposition the party ahead of time. It’s only a party not serious of winning that will wait for the raining day to make preparation for a shelter
It’s undeniable fact that our party has been polarised along individuals’ interest, let all warring foot soldiers sheath the swords that are being used to tear and desecrate the PDP umbrella indiscriminately rather than to fight the opponents.
Let the voice of wisdom of the party elders and the voice of reason of our long serving officers of the party from inception be respected to bring about lasting peace to Osun PDP.
The consequences of our failure to heed good timely advises may be disastrous and regretful in the long run. Let there be no be or Vanquished in this family fight. Let everyone be the winners once the party crises are resolved to the yearnings of the people.
If on the other hand we fail to realize the urgent need from team work, unity of purpose and inconclusiveness, then we may be heading towards Golgotha or perdition.
Going forward, let our credo be one love, one family, one future together in PDP.
Do not say I never told you that the road ahead is bumpy and our collective failure to resolve on time may throw up a new dimension of happenings into Osun politics.
